Job Title

Sales and Account Management Professional

Purpose of the Role

The Commercial Sales Executive role is a hybrid position that combines sales and account management activities to achieve new customer acquisition targets and maintain existing Amadeus clients, driving future growth within the Field Sales segment.

The role is primarily office-based in Brisbane and customer-facing, with flexibility for working from home. The incumbent represents Amadeus and presents at Amadeus and industry events, requiring regular travel within QLD and occasional interstate and international travel.

Main Responsibilities

- Acquisition

  • Drive sales activities across the Field Sales segment to acquire new customers in accordance with commercial principles of sustainable and profitable growth.

- Retention

  • Drive account management activities across the Field Sales segment to ensure the retention and effective management of existing customers in accordance with commercial principles of sustainable and profitable growth.

- Development

  • Drive business development activities with prospects and existing customers to achieve growth in the Field Sales segment and increase revenues through the introduction of new solutions and services.
  • Create sales and account development plans to convert strategy into specific customer engagements and activities.
  • Provide competitive intelligence, analysis of market trends, and competitor performance.
  • Build and leverage a network of customers and industry contacts to win market share.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience in IT product and technology solutions sales.
  • Previous business development experience within the segment portfolio.
  • Travel industry background essential, preferably with Amadeus as a front-line travel agent or within Amadeus in a customer support, training, or sales role.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Strong blend of commercial (negotiation experience) with a customer-first ethos.
  • Sound knowledge of Amadeus products and services, along with a high level of functional GDS expertise.
  • Good understanding of the travel industry and Amadeus' position within the broader travel environment.
  • Tertiary level qualifications in a sales or business discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated self-motivation under little supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker, team player.
