Business Development Opportunity

Pioneering business development activity and initiatives to achieve business growth in Australia's Defence environment is a key role for this position.

The Opportunity

This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with the Department of Defence across various defence infrastructure programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing business development activities associated with estate works and other defence infrastructure programs.
  • Liaising and overseeing bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities progressed to submission with strong probability of success.
  • Preparing business professionals and support contract negotiations for allocated key captures when down-selected and ensuring that all attributes of the program's development are handed over for execution.
  • Building a well-defined and qualified pipeline of opportunities aligned with the 2025 Defence strategy.
  • Managing opportunities from initial identification, strategy development and pursuit management through to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
  • Conducting ongoing competitor and market analysis, ensuring awareness of any changes that may impact successful achievement of Defence Strategy and Business development objectives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or related field.
  • Business development or operational experience in a defence-related field.
  • Highly developed communication skills, strong negotiation and influencing skills and ability to establish effective relationships at different levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong systems, operational, financial, resource planning and reporting skills.
