About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Aboriginal Consultant Officer to join our team of experts who conduct risk assessments and provide support to NSW Health workers in responding to vulnerable children, young people, and families.

The role involves providing specialist advice and support, engaging with stakeholders to increase confidence and awareness of Aboriginal children and families, and preventing escalation into the statutory system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist advice and support to the team
  • Engage with stakeholders to increase confidence and awareness of Aboriginal children and families
  • Assist NSW Health workers in responding to vulnerable children, young people, and families
  • Conduct risk appraisals and provide recommendations for early intervention

Requirements

  • Suitably qualified Aboriginal person
  • Experience working with Aboriginal children and families
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
