About the Role:
Our team is seeking a dedicated professional to take on the role of Cultural Ambassador. In this position, you will work closely with young people in custody, addressing their concerns and issues, while also monitoring the treatment and conditions of these individuals within custodial centres across New South Wales.
This includes regular visits to assigned youth justice centres, where you will provide a positive cultural influence for Aboriginal children in custody. Preference will be given to candidates from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
You will collaborate with the Inspector of Custodial Services to oversee the Official Visitor Program, ensuring high standards are maintained in correctional facilities and youth justice centres.
As part of this targeted expression of interest, successful applicants will undergo rigorous reference checks before being appointed.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
