The Aboriginal Mental Health Specialist role involves providing psychological services to young people who have committed offences.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing individualised treatment plans to support the needs of young people, their families, and community.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver therapeutic programs and interventions that address the complex needs of young people.
- Working closely with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to ensure culturally safe and effective practice.
Key requirements for this position include:
- Current provisional or full registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- A valid Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
- A current Working with Children Check clearance.
This opportunity is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons.
Key Responsibilities- Psychological Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of young people and develop individualised treatment plans.
- Treatment Planning: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop holistic treatment plans that address the complex needs of young people.
- Culturally Safe Practice: Work closely with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to ensure culturally safe and effective practice.
- Qualifications: Current provisional or full registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Travel: A valid Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
