We are seeking a group of dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Debates Committee.

About the Role

The Debates Committee is responsible for governing the debating program, with committee members reviewing regulations and taking responsibility for organizing the program. This role requires a commitment of approximately 12 months, beginning in November, and involves working as a team to make a real difference.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and implementing Debates regulations
  • Organizing the debating program through various portfolios
  • Supporting the Director of Debates
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in debating or similar activities
  • Knowledge of USU and its activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Selection Criteria

Applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Current student status
  • Active membership or willingness to obtain
  • Availability to commit to regular meetings and events
  • Willingness to participate in training and development opportunities

Desirable criteria include experience in extracurricular community activities and participation in debating tournaments.
