Debates Committee Member

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that governs the debating program at the University. As a member of the Debates Committee, you will have the chance to make a real difference in the provision of USU services and contribute to shaping the future of the debating program.

The Debates Committee consists of 12 students who work together to review the Debates regulations and take responsibility for organizing the debating program. Members are elected to portfolios that require them to review and implement the Debates program.

You will work closely with the Director of Debates to ensure the success of the debating program. This role requires commitment from the Committee members of approximately 12 months, beginning in November 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and implement the Debates regulations
  • Organize the debating program through assigned portfolios
  • Work closely with the Director of Debates to ensure the success of the debating program
Requirements
  • Current University student
  • Active USU membership or willingness to obtain
  • Able to commit to meeting several times a semester
  • Available for an interview of approximately 15 minutes duration
