Senior Safety Specialist

The Role:
This position entails supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive safety system that spans across multiple locations.
- Lead the implementation of safety procedures and protocols to minimize risk.
- Oversee the management of hazardous materials including radiation, explosives and chemicals.
- Contribute to the HSE aspects of tenders and audits ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in incident investigations and emergency response coordination.
- Regularly conduct field audits and facility inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Enhance safety procedures and risk assessments to ensure the highest level of workplace safety.
- Ensure safe storage and handling practices are adhered to at all times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role you will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field, experience in incident investigation, Certificate IV in Work Health Safety, strong experience operating in an advisory capacity and oil and gas industry knowledge. A solid understanding of Australian HSE legislation is also required.
