Senior Safety and Health Partner – Department of Justice, Corrective Services.

Location: Perth CBD | Work type: Fixed Term - Full Time | Salary: Level 8, $157,900 - $171,005 p.a. plus 12% Super PSCSAA 2024 | Position number: 017121

This is a fixed term, full time vacancy available for 12 months, with the possibility of extension, up to a further 12 months and/or permanency, subject to business requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on safety, health obligations, workers' compensation and injury prevention to improve WHS processes and compliance with legal obligations and Corrective Services strategies.
  • Build and improve the capability of senior management and staff through strategic leadership and collaboration with sites and the Department's Health and Safety Branch.
  • Develop and implement WHS initiatives, manage workers compensation, and support recovery and return to work for staff.
  • Partner with operational leads to contribute to the Safety and Health framework and minimize risk while meeting Work Health and Safety obligations.
  • Communicate and negotiate effectively to influence culture, performance, and process improvements for a safer, healthier workplace.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and management of Work Health and Safety in a complex, multi-disciplinary service organisation.
  • Experience managing Work Health and Safety requirements for facilities in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve WHS outcomes.
  • Knowledge of current legislative and regulatory WHS requirements and their impact on employment, people management, and service delivery.
