About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill a vacancy for a Substance Use Specialist in our multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide assessment, case management and coordination of services to clients with complex needs.

As a Substance Use Specialist, you will work collaboratively with our teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions for clients experiencing difficulties related to substance use. You will be responsible for providing education, referrals and follow-up support to clients as required.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and skills in substance use and addiction, including harm minimisation approaches. They will also possess strong assessment and case management skills, with the ability to negotiate and advocate effectively on behalf of vulnerable clients.

  • A registered nurse or social worker with current registration and at least 3 years of experience in a relevant area.
  • An occupational therapist with a bachelor degree or equivalent in occupational therapy, current AHPRA registration, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
  • A counsellor or welfare officer with qualifications recognised for employment under the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
  • A psychologist with a bachelor degree in psychology and AHPRA registration, eligible for membership of the Australian Psychological Society, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
