Health and Environmental Safeguard Specialist

This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring our operations adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental sustainability across allocated sites.

The Health and Environmental Safeguard Specialist is responsible for driving the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental systems and processes, guaranteeing ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and maintenance of the HSE Management System, aligned with ISO 45001 and applicable WHS, environmental, and psychosocial safety legislation.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, maintain hazard registers, and track action close-out.
  • Monitor site compliance, conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations, including psychological injuries or near misses.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, plant and equipment safety, and coordination of environmental and radiation safety monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and reports, incorporating psychosocial risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate on wellbeing programs and awareness initiatives (e.g., mental health, stress, and fatigue management).
  • Support inductions, return-to-work processes, and contractor compliance.

This role involves regular travel between two physical sites, one in Wetherill Park, NSW, and the other in Narangba, QLD. Other incidental travel may be required as part of the role.
