Project Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our experienced team at BESIX Watpac. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing critical and technically challenging activities to achieve project safety, time, quality, environment, and budget objectives.
The scope of works includes deconstructing the existing wharf and constructing a new wharf that will accommodate the introduction of new naval capability into service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and monitor project management plans, systems, and registers, as delegated by the Project Manager.
- Manage a number of critical path type subcontractors to technical requirements.
- Proactively participate in subcontractor coordination meetings to ensure a highly productive work environment is created and maintained.
- Establish and monitor quality controls as per specifications and project management plans, reporting variances and rectifying quality defects.
- Identify and manage project resources, including materials handling equipment, for optimum productivity.
- Assist with cost management and reporting, including preparation of project reports, material registers, cash flow predictions, and progress claims.
Requirements
The incumbent in this role will require a degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a recognised equivalent, along with construction delivery experience in a Project Engineer or Site Engineer capacity. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate ability to communicate, influence, and build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
