Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Natural Hazard Modelling professional to join our team.

This exciting opportunity involves delivering high-quality modelling and insights across natural perils and reinsurance, playing a key role in enhancing the financial strength of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, maintain, and enhance modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting, reinsurance program optimisation, and allocation
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely preparation of data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling
  • Deliver technical modelling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve, automate, and simplify modelling and analytical workflows
  • Collaborate with external consultants and reinsurance brokers to validate data and modelling results
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams to ensure modelling advice aligns with evolving business needs
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to general insurance
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, and SAS; Python experience desirable
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects independently
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired
