Job Title: Senior Analyst, Natural Hazards

Suncorp is committed to building a more resilient Australia by enhancing skills and strengthening customer relationships. We are seeking a Natural Hazard Modelling Analyst to support the development and delivery of modelling processes related to natural hazards.

This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to produce accurate and insightful outputs. It offers a strong foundation for career progression and technical growth.

  • Develop and maintain modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting and reinsurance optimization.
  • Prepare, validate, and manage data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling.
  • Deliver technical outputs to internal stakeholders within agreed timelines.
  • Support automation and enhancement of analytical workflows.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and brokers on data and modelling inputs.
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams to understand and support business needs.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Experience in general insurance or financial services is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with experience in SQL, SAS, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming languages is desirable.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow.
