Legal Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Practitioner to join our team in Hobart. The successful applicant will undertake litigation on behalf of the Department of Police and Emergency Management, providing legal services and support with a focus on criminal law matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct litigation on behalf of the Department of Police and Emergency Management;
  • Provide legal services and support, with a particular emphasis on criminal law matters;
  • Admitted or qualified for and entitled to be admitted to the legal profession under the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007;
Duties:
  • Undertake various legal duties, including:
  • Preparation of court documents and submissions;
  • Representation of the Department in court proceedings;
  • Liaison with other agencies and stakeholders;
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field;
  • Admission to practice as a solicitor or barrister;
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
