We are seeking a seasoned legal expert to provide top-notch civil legal advice and litigation services to the government and its departments.
This role has a specific focus on abuse in care matters, requiring the candidate to possess extensive knowledge and experience in this area.
- Support the Crown Counsel (Abuse in Care) as needed.
- Collaborate with the State Litigator or Assistant State Litigator to review files and perform other tasks as directed.
- Offer comprehensive, accurate, and timely advice to the government and its departments on civil legal matters.
- Brief external solicitors and barristers according to the government's policy and procedures.
- Represent the government in court when necessary (e.g., at routine interlocutory and directions hearings).
- Participate in performance evaluations and file reviews as directed.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Requirements:- Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Proven expertise in civil law and litigation.
