Responsibilities:

  1. Lead policy development and reform by designing and implementing impactful advocacy initiatives that support Endeavour Foundation's strategic priorities in disability and employment services.
  2. Prepare high-quality documentation including policy papers, briefing notes, reports, and communications for diverse internal and external audiences.
  3. Influence government and stakeholders through proactive relationship management across local, state, and national levels, collaborating with partners to drive coordinated policy outcomes.
  4. Deliver public advocacy campaigns that raise awareness, build support, and promote policy change, including joint initiatives with sector organisations.
  5. Champion the voice of people with disability by working closely with self-advocates, building their capacity, and ensuring advocacy aligns with lived experience and client needs.
  6. Maintain strategic alignment by ensuring consistent messaging across campaigns, providing sector insights to senior leaders, and representing the organisation in advocacy activities and consultations.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Political Science, Public Relations, Journalism, Law, Economics or Business (highly regarded).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local, state and national political landscape, including legislative and policy processes and the public service.
  • In-depth understanding of issues impacting people with disability and their families and supports, or the ability to acquire this understanding quickly.
  • Solid experience in developing and translating policy concepts into compelling narratives that will influence decision-makers and the public.
  • A strong political background with political connections.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
