Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare prosecution cases on complex matters, including appeals, with timeliness and professionalism.
  • Cultivate relationships with stakeholders such as defence counsel, solicitors, police, victims, and witnesses to maintain clear communication.
  • Advocate in court for appeals, sentences, committal hearings, and bail applications across various courts.
  • Engage with complainants and relatives, particularly in cases involving sensitive offences, with sensitivity and compassion.
  • Lead and mentor legal officers and support staff, inspiring high standards and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia.
  • Expertise in applying legal principles, drafting documents, providing advice, and acting as a court advocate with confidence and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, navigating complex multi-stakeholder environments.
  • A proven track record of mentoring, training, and supporting legal teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • A trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approach when supporting victims of crime.
