Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Fund Accounting Manager to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role will be based in Sydney and will report directly to the Head of Tax Division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient flow of operations across the year, taking into account relevant logistics and dependencies, to ensure timely delivery of services. This includes coordinating the flow of deliverables through to year-end, managing timetabling, tracking, and reporting progress, and gathering year-end requirements from all stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience at manager/supervisor level in funds admin, custody, or investment operations, with a strong understanding of fund accounting, unit pricing, and tax services. They will also possess excellent Excel skills, sound numeracy abilities, and exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the flow of deliverables through to year-end.
  • Manage timetabling, tracking, and reporting progress.
  • Gather year-end requirements from all stakeholders.
  • Manage log of outstanding issues/actions for the department.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with business coordinators.
  • Conduct review post year-end.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Experience in a similar role and/or ≥ 5 years' experience at manager level in a fund administration, custody, or investment operations environment.
  • Awareness of all aspects and functions of a master custody environment.
  • Strong understanding of key concepts including unit pricing, regulatory and statutory reporting, tax reporting, valuation and accounting, and distributions of taxable income calculations.
  • Technical accounting ability.
  • Exceptional Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound numeracy abilities.
  • Degree or Diploma qualified in Business or Accounting fields would be highly preferable.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and take on a challenging role that requires strong leadership and technical skills. The salary for this position is estimated to be around AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
