CAWLS is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Civil & Criminal Lawyer to join their team.

This newly created hybrid position offers a unique opportunity to work across both civil and criminal legal matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation in courts and tribunals.

About the Role

The full-time Civil & Criminal Lawyer will be based in Alice Springs or Tennant Creek, NT, reporting to the Senior Management Team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal advice and representation in civil and criminal law matters
  • Representing clients in courts and tribunals
  • Delivering legal support to women impacted by DFV and systemic disadvantage
  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver wraparound services
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor of Laws, eligible for a Practising Certificate in the Northern Territory
  • Experience in civil or criminal law, particularly Domestic and Family Violence
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and working with CALD and/or First Nations backgrounds
