Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Government of New South Wales as an Aboriginal Outreach Officer. As a key member of the Outreach Support team, you will play a vital role in reducing the disproportionate impact of fines and debts on Aboriginal people and those experiencing hardship.
Key Responsibilities- Provide outreach services in communities to support customers experiencing hardship resolve their fines and debts.
- Engage and form productive relationships with community stakeholders to develop local plans to tackle issues that lead to fines and debts in communities.
- Present information to educate customers and community stakeholders about the fines system and resolution options.
- Work together with community partners to develop and implement strategies to address the root causes of fines and debts.
- Manage your own time and workload to make a meaningful impact in your community.
- A passion for making a difference in communities across NSW through providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to act with compassion, empathy, and cultural competence when supporting customers and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the fines system or ability to interpret and apply legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present information to diverse audiences.
- Experience using technology in the workplace, including Microsoft Office products.
