At Uniting, we are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Maitland. This is a permanent part-time opportunity working 4 days a week across a 7-day rotating roster.

As an Aboriginal Mental Health Support Worker, you will work directly within the community, alongside consumers, to provide a range of individualized psychosocial supports. You will use a holistic, person-centered approach, working with the recovery model to support consumers in achieving their goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support to consumers, ensuring a balanced and collaborative approach to care.
  • Developing and implementing individual care plans tailored to the needs and goals of each consumer.
  • Planning and facilitating group activities that promote social engagement and skill development.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records using CareLink, ensuring that risk assessments, care plans, and progress notes are up to date.
  • Liaising with referral sources to ensure a seamless transition for consumers entering the program.
