We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team at Public Sector People. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the accurate and efficient delivery of fortnightly payroll services within a local council environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll documentation, timesheet data entry, and superannuation payments in a timely manner.
  • Handle payroll enquiries, ensuring all communications are resolved promptly and in accordance with council policies and procedures.
  • Ensure legislative compliance in payroll administration, adhering to the National Employment Standards, Enterprise Agreement, ATO requirements, and specific Local Government provisions such as Long Service Leave.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a payroll-focused role within a public sector organisation.
  • Familiarity with various payroll and time & attendance software systems.
  • Minimum of 12 months' experience in payroll processing.

About the Role:

This is a temporary contract position offering $45.83 per hour + super, based on a 38-hour week. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently in a hybrid arrangement, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
