Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum



Job Description: Transport Manager


The Transport Manager will oversee daily transport operations while driving strategic initiatives that contribute to the long-term success of the business. This involves optimizing operational performance, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport solutions, and leading the team to meet organizational goals.



Main Responsibilities:



  • Play a key leadership role in overseeing daily transport operations while also driving strategic initiatives that contribute to the long-term success of the business.
  • Lean on your experience and market knowledge to actively identify and pursue new business development opportunities, focusing on building and expanding relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Work closely with the sales team to support client acquisition and retention, providing insights and expertise to develop tailored transport solutions.
  • Provide leadership, development, and guidance to a diverse range of areas within the Operations while directing and building your team to ensure operational success of the national linehaul division.
  • Conduct regular customer review meetings, building strong, long-term relationships with key clients, while presenting performance metrics, KPIs, and improvement plans.
  • Work within the Operations Budget to meet the operations financial targets, achieving a business profit result while expanding future opportunities through business development and sales support.
  • Be accountable for the overall performance and success of the business unit, maintaining high standards in operations and achieving operational plan goals.


Requirements:



  • 5 years + experience in Line Haul operations and people management.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills as well as a proven ability to lean on established industry relationships.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, other departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or Business Management / or other relevant discipline, or extensive Industry experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities to oversee and guide a team of operators, dispatchers, and other personnel.
  • A deep understanding of regulations, compliance, and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and other relevant tools.
