Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Visual Suite Platform (VSP) Team in delivering world-class products. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for setting vision and strategy, rallying teams, and developing strategies that maximize efficiency and velocity.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join Canva's rapidly growing engineering organization and make a significant impact on our product roadmap. You will work closely with leaders across specialties, teams, and groups to set a vision and rally teams to deliver it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the VSP Team in delivering high-quality products that meet business requirements
  • Develop and implement strategies that take advantage of the team's strengths to maximize efficiency and velocity
  • Invest in the growth and development of the team members
  • Rally teams to deliver shared goals and objectives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in leading multiple squads of engineers, including team leads
  • Ability to run multiple streams of work, rallying a wide range of people, teams, and groups across the organization towards a common goal
  • Balancing short-term pragmatism with a steadfast commitment to building the right thing for our long-term goals
  • Track record of empowering other leaders and building a diverse team, while growing future leaders
  • Experience delivering a product from early stages to full launch in a tightly constrained environment
  • Commercial experience in a software development environment, ideally with experience in building internal/external SDKs or APIs
  • Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals
