As a seasoned design manager at Arcadis, you will lead multidisciplinary design teams for highways and road projects within a design and engineering consultancy environment. You will provide technical leadership to inspire direction and delivery, driving optimal and high-quality design decisions through collaboration, innovation, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex inter-disciplinary projects, providing technical leadership and direction to the design team.
  • Drive design decisions through collaboration, innovation, and creativity, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Use interpersonal and influencing skills to support successful negotiation outcomes and manage client technical liaison.
  • Monitor and review design scope to ensure deliverables meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure safety is addressed throughout all phases, including design, construction, operation, decommissioning, and disposal.
  • Identify and manage project resource requirements, chairing design coordination meetings and managing design scope, change, and implementation of Variations.
Requirements:

You will have a relevant engineering degree with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation, with extensive experience in the transportation infrastructure market. You will be confident in leading multidisciplinary design teams and have demonstrated experience delivering complex road infrastructure projects.

You will have well-developed technical and commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the industry and a demonstrated ability in securing opportunities. Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management experience are essential, as is the ability to build credible, collaborative, but influential relationships both internally and externally.
