Join us in maintaining the integrity of the Australian immigration system as a Senior Sponsor Monitoring Officer.

The Department of Home Affairs is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to undertake complex monitoring and compliance activities within the Sponsor Monitoring Unit.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on administrative outcomes and civil penalties, as well as undertaking site visits and conducting investigative interviews.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting investigations and performing other visa compliance activities
  • Undertaking site visits and educating business sponsors regarding their obligations
  • Managing a compliance monitoring caseload with a high degree of independence
  • Issuing Notices of Intent to Take Action and recommending administrative penalties

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment in complex situations.

They will also have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, and be able to work within a legislative framework.

As a Senior Sponsor Monitoring Officer, you will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your visa program integrity risk assessment skills and compliance audit skills.

Our team operates within a high-profile and politically sensitive migration program, and you will be required to work occasional overtime and travel to regional locations.

Eligibility requirements include being an Australian citizen and meeting Border Force Officer qualifications.
