Job Opportunity: Senior Lawyer - Energy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lawyer to join our team in supporting Alinta's strategic energy projects across development, construction and operational phases.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with experience in complex, fast-paced environments and a passion for delivering strategic legal solutions. If you have a strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, and are able to build effective internal relationships, we would love to hear from you.

  • Provide comprehensive legal support and advice on matters relating to development projects (power generation and storage) and assets.
  • Drafting and negotiating a range of project documents with a focus on energy contracts (e.g. connection agreements and offtake arrangements) in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Managing external legal advisors and delivering training to internal teams.
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risks across the project lifecycle.
  • Championing legal governance and contributing to team leadership.

Requirements:

  • A law degree and admission to practice in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • Experience in project development (construction and/or energy).
  • Minimum 7 years' legal experience in a major law firm or in-house role.
