Job Description:

As a seasoned professional, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the energy and development of renewable energy projects. This includes implementing sustainable energy solutions across our electrical network.

About this role

You will lead the design, planning, and execution of initiatives related to carbon-neutral strategies, distribution systems, generation options, and storage technologies. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice and direction to senior stakeholders on renewables and sustainable energy systems.
  • Overseeing and providing direction to clients on all renewables and sustainable energy systems development.
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholders on renewables and sustainable energy management matters.
  • Investigating, justifying, and preparing project funding requests for renewables and sustainable energy management systems.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and interfacing with them on renewables and sustainable energy management system matters.
  • Developing and managing renewables and sustainable energy management-related standards and policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a senior engineering position.
  • Experience with transmission and distribution network disciplines, including LV, HV, EHV (power system modelling, asset management planning, design and planning, protection, commissioning, project management, safety system operation, network operation, metering, SCADA, comms).
  • Knowledge of energy market operations and fundamentals (PPAs, energy tariffs, wholesale market, energy despatch, energy import/export).
  • Knowledge of emerging electrical network and energy system technologies and markets.
  • Familiarity with GIS/Spatial environment and asset management data capture and control.
