About the Role

As a key member of the ASIC team, you will be responsible for managing and contributing to large, complex investigations into suspected misconduct in greenwashing and ESG misconduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and/or contribute to large, complex investigations, utilizing technology to analyze data, information, and documentation to identify and present relevant evidence.
  • Employ a range of evidence gathering techniques, including conducting examinations, interviewing witnesses, taking complex statements, and undertaking document review using electronic tools.
  • Identify complex legal issues arising in investigations and provide support to ASIC Litigation Counsel in commencing and conducting civil litigation in the Supreme and/or Federal Courts.
  • Communicate with external parties in relation to issues arising during the course of the investigation.

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, including law, commerce, accounting, finance, data science, or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience in a role involving investigation, case management, evidence gathering processes, project management, or detection of misconduct, including the conduct of civil litigation and/or the preparation of criminal briefs of evidence.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and manage complex investigations through to completion.
  • Strong legislative and evidence analysis skills, as well as highly developed writing and drafting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use digital investigative tools and confidence presenting, building rapport, interviewing, and advocating an organization's position in complex issues.

Classification and Remuneration

  • ASIC4: from $90,000 with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • EL1: from $118,000 with 5-6 years of relevant experience.
  • EL2: from $141,000 with 7+ years of relevant experience.
