About the Role

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Ground Registered Nurse - Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service. This is a casual position, operating in a road transport environment, where you will be responsible for caring for patients accessing our Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service for transfer from aircraft to facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Patient Safety: Ensure patients remain clinically stable during their occasion of care, identifying any clinical deterioration and escalating concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Effective Communication: Provide ongoing communication with patients, medical escorts, and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and care.
  • Administrative and Base Duties: When not involved in patient care, the successful candidate will be involved in administrative and base duties as determined by the Senior Nurse, Emergency and Transport.
Requirements
  • Registration and Qualifications: Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, as well as current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualifications.
  • Experience and Skills: Minimum 3 years acute post-graduate nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years ICU/ED experience, and demonstrated skill level.
  • Desirable Criteria: Any other relevant acute care or emergency skills, DETECT and DETECT junior qualifications, previous triage experience, or post-registration qualifications in a relevant acute area or First Line Emergency Care Course (FLECC) qualifications.
