CareFlight is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Patient Transport Service team as a Flight Nurse at Bankstown Airport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing critical care to patients during aeromedical transport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and Record Patient Information: Gather and document patient information during transfers, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
  • Nursing Interventions: Provide nursing care in accordance with clinical practice guidelines, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
  • Transition Coordination: Coordinate the transition of patients from one mode of transport to the next, ensuring seamless care.
  • Patient Handling: Actively participate in the loading and unloading of patients, utilizing appropriate manual handling techniques and standard operating procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and restock equipment and supplies at the completion of patient transfers, ensuring optimal functionality.
Requirements
  • Registration: Be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of five years' experience working in an acute care setting.
  • Certifications: Hold current certifications in ALS/APLS and IV cannulation.
  • Clinical Practice: Demonstrate the ability to work under clinical practice guidelines.
  • Safety and Quality: Possess strong knowledge and understanding of safety and quality principles.
  • Teamwork: Be willing and able to function effectively as a team member.
  • Communication: Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Microsoft Office: Have good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Driver's License: Hold a current driver's license.
  • Working with Children Clearance: Possess a current Working with Children clearance or be able to obtain one.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working in a patient transfer setting.
