Key Responsibilities
  1. First Nations Guidance and Advice

As a First Nations person, you will provide guidance and advice on cultural practice and protocols to our team. You will work collaboratively with our First Nations cultural advisor to ensure that our organization is culturally sensitive and aware.

Project Management Support and Administration

You will assist and support with the administration, planning, and implementation of projects and initiatives to end rheumatic heart disease. Your priorities will include stakeholder engagement, cultural considerations, travel and logistics, events, meetings, merchandise, and permissions. You will also assist and support the organization of events, in collaboration with Marketing and Communication, focused on awareness raising and advocacy.

Relationship Management and Community Engagement

You will support your Manager and the CEO with social and economic justice and empowerment partnerships, including community-led initiatives. You will establish and maintain strong and transparent relationships with stakeholders and provide support to First Nations projects and initiatives.

Communication and Research

You will research key First Nations social and economic justice and empowerment issues and developments in government policy, media, and advocacy circles. You will communicate these findings with internal and external stakeholders and monitor and communicate progress and impact.

Financial

You will support forecasting and planning for national grants and submissions for approval/payment within a timely manner.

Grants Management

You will understand and use the Grants Management system to ensure partnerships and grants are correctly managed and updated.
