Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and innovative Training Director to lead our national training team and spearhead the design and delivery of technical training programs across the country.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading training teams and driving national programs or initiatives, with strong experience in technical or equipment-based training development and delivery.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a critical function during a period of investment and transformation. You'll lead a skilled team from day one, while also shaping the future of training delivery as we bring our new training facility to life.
Your Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a national team including Technical Trainers, Training Coordinators, and an Apprentice Coordinator
- Conduct national training needs analyses to identify skills gaps and priority areas for both internal and external stakeholders
- Develop structured technical training programs across equipment, automation systems, and digital platforms
- Align training content with operational and business needs through close collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Service, and HR
- Oversee apprenticeship and capability development pathways for tradespeople and early-career technicians
- Build frameworks for product inductions, competency-based progression, certification, and compliance training
- Support the design and delivery model of the new training facility, ensuring it meets future operational and learning requirements
- Drive a strong training culture across the business with a focus on safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
You'll be responsible for:
- Proven experience in a training management or senior training role in mining, construction, or heavy industry
- Demonstrated success leading training teams and driving national programs or initiatives
- Strong experience in technical or equipment-based training development and delivery
- Experience supporting or managing apprenticeship programs, including mentoring and competency progression
- Understanding of adult learning principles and competency-based frameworks (Cert IV TAE desirable)
- Solid technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems, or experience with mobile or drill equipment
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across departments and levels
