Job Opportunity: Assistant Manager, Licensing

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Manager, Licensing. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to the development of frameworks and processes that deliver effective tobacco business licensing functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to strategic planning, implement corporate initiatives, and develop operational policies and processes to improve service delivery.
  • Oversee the assessment and ongoing monitoring of high-risk licensees.
  • Provide authoritative advice on complex issues relevant to the licensing function.
  • Monitor and quality assure the licensing team's performance against targets, taking proactive steps to implement performance improvements, and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare correspondence, briefs, and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing clear advice and decision options.
  • Represent the department through consultation, engagement, and liaison with a broad range of stakeholders.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading teams in high-volume, fast-paced operational environments, achieving performance targets and adherence to quality.
Requirements:
  • Experience leading teams in operational environments, achieving performance targets and quality standards.

Appropriate qualifications or equivalent experience in licensing and/or regulation would be highly advantageous.
