**Job Title:** Commercial Strategist

This is a unique opportunity to drive business growth by leading commercial excellence initiatives across contract management, procurement, and financial analysis. As a key member of our leadership team, you will work collaboratively to unlock value and explore new opportunities within our operations.

In this dynamic role, you will implement and contribute to our commercial strategy, ensuring financial sustainability while achieving key performance indicators. Your responsibilities will include supporting the establishment of best practice guidelines, overseeing compliance with ISO standards, and leading the budgeting and forecasting process. You will implement a contract management lifecycle framework, monitor performance, and champion a data-driven approach to uncover new commercial opportunities.

As a Commercial Strategist, you will partner with operational teams, providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations to enhance profitability and customer outcomes. Your role will also involve reviewing contracts, managing risks, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build a robust commercial culture.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive commercial excellence through best-in-class strategies across contract management and procurement
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with operational teams and external stakeholders
  • Make an impact through data-driven insights and identify new commercial opportunities

**Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial management, including property & fleet, procurement & commercial analysis, strategic contract sourcing, commercial negotiation, risk management, contract management, legislation & regulatory compliance, contract law, and cost management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to our company's values and code of conduct.
  • Able to travel nationally as required and obtain Defence NV2 Security clearance.
  • MBA or bachelor's level business management or commerce qualification preferred.
  • Bachelor's level law qualification preferred.
  • CA/CPA qualification preferred.
  • Data savvy with outstanding numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills in presenting results of commercial analyses.
  • Brilliant communicator in the preparation of high-quality written reports, policies, action plans, correspondence, and other documentation as required.
