Overview of the Role
">The Aboriginal Health Worker is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing primary health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. This role focuses on addressing the physical, emotional, cultural, and environmental needs of individuals and communities.

- Deliver culturally sensitive healthcare services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people;">
- Develop and deliver health promotion and education initiatives tailored to the local community's needs;">
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care;">
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of local Aboriginal community issues, including awareness of health and wellbeing challenges;">
- Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate health programs and services;">
Required Skills and Qualifications
">To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
">- ">
- Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage with established links to their local Aboriginal community;">
- Hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a relevant Certificate III health qualification;">
- Demonstrate capacity to work effectively in a team environment;">
- Have understanding of chronic disease and preventable lifestyle illness, along with cultural awareness of health issues affecting the local client group;">
- Be able to learn and utilize computer programs required for planning, delivering, and documenting care.">
