Role Overview

Sustainability Specialist is a vital position within the organization, focused on ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and promoting responsible energy production.

This role involves applying expertise in environmental management to support operational facilities and contribute to the delivery of the organization's commitment to sustainability. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining compliance, developing and implementing environmental programs, and collaborating across teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance & Systems: Implement and maintain systems and procedures aligned with environmental management plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit & Reporting: Coordinate internal and external audits, including regulator engagement. Prepare and submit high-quality technical reports.
  • Contractor & Operational Support: Oversee environmental compliance of contractor activities, including during shutdowns.
  • Incident Response & Investigation: Lead investigations into environmental incidents or non-conformances.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Planning: Engage with internal teams, regulators, and other key stakeholders. Contribute to the development and delivery of annual environmental goals and initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of onshore environmental regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing complex technical documentation.
  • Experience working with contractors and resolving environmental or compliance issues.
  • Confidence in engaging with regulators, including audits and reporting.
  • Collaborative mindset, valuing empathy and cultural diversity.
  • Australian driver's license and reliable transport.
