GEMCO is an open-cut mine located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, accountable for over 20% of the world's manganese ore production.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position on a 4:3 roster (Monday to Thursday), with options for FIFO from Darwin or Cairns, or residential on Groote Eylandt.

As part of our environmental and social impact assessment team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery and execution of studies related to environmental approvals.

  • Prepare Mine Management Plans for exploration and mining activities
  • Assist in obtaining regulatory approvals required to support exploration and capital projects
  • Identify risks associated with land access and regulatory approval pathways, and implement corrective actions to address and manage them
  • Support consultants to deliver technical and social assessment related studies required for preparing environmental approval applications
About You

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Significant experience in a similar role within the mining and resources industry.
  • Knowledge of Federal and Northern Territory environmental legislation and approval processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental management and impact assessments.

For this position, desirable qualifications include a tertiary qualification in Science or Natural Resources disciplines.
