Job Opportunity

The Customer Service Officer is a critical role within our organisation, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, guidance and support to the community. This position involves working in a dynamic environment, rotating across various functions of the Customer Care team, including adoptions, surrenders, lost and found, stray intake and reporting.

About the Role
  • Provide accurate and timely customer service and advice regarding animal welfare
  • Coordinate the adoption & surrender process, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately
  • Ensure animals received are tagged or otherwise appropriately identified
  • Administration duties, including daily banking and responding to customer inquiries via phone or email
  • Cleaning of animal enclosures and administering medications when required
  • Coordinate and facilitate impounding services and all required documentation
  • Escalate urgent reports to management and the inspectorate
About You
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • Prior experience working in a non-profit organisation desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Certificate II in Animal Studies and/or other formal training in animal behaviour desirable
  • Previous experience in animal handling

This is a full-time, permanent position that will rotate across all functions of the Customer Care Team and the Shelter.
