Job Description

We're seeking a Claims Portfolio Manager to join our team As a Claims Portfolio Manager, you'll be responsible for proactively managing complex life insurance claims in accordance with our claims philosophy, procedures, and policy terms. Your key focus will be on providing exceptional customer and client experience, including regular communication on claim status and managing expectations to deliver quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of complex life insurance claims in a proactive, cost-effective manner.
  • Evaluate accurate claim assessments in line with policy terms and conditions.
  • Gather and interpret relevant information to develop an effective claims strategy.
  • Determine correct benefit entitlements to ensure timely payments for legitimate claims.
  • Collaborate with Technical Specialists, Recovery & Support Specialists, Health Services, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team on claims management processes, procedures, and contract requirements.
  • Role model effective case management and best practice portfolio management.
  • Support the development of less experienced Claims Consultants as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, involving life, lump sum, trauma, and income protection claims assessment in the Financial Services/Insurance Industry.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field (desirable).
  • The ability to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times.
  • A medical, vocational, or rehabilitation background (desirable).
