About the Role

The Manager/Senior Manager, Payment Partner Risk plays a critical role in our second-line Risk team, serving as a subject matter expert on financial partner and card scheme rules and requirements. You will provide cross-functional guidance on financial partner requirements and help evaluate new sales prospects or products, balancing business objectives within risk appetite.

This position can be based in Singapore, Hong Kong, or Australia.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to advise on financial partner requirements and establish/enforce Airwallex's acceptable use policy across multiple payment products and geographies.
  • Act as an expert in card scheme rules for major international card scheme partners.
  • Define restricted and prohibited business lists.
  • Provide guidance on financial partner requirements to first-line teams and assist them in exploring, understanding, and accommodating time-sensitive business opportunities.
  • Assist in driving product or process changes to monitor and mitigate payment partner risks.
  • Create guidelines, checklists, and support materials for Sales teams to quickly evaluate new prospects in terms of scheme compliance and partner requirements.

What We're Looking For

We seek individuals with 5+ years of experience in payments-related roles, risk, or compliance functions. Candidates with more experience may be considered for Senior Manager.

Mandatory qualifications include:

  • Experience in policy formulation.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to explain complex requirements to non-experts.
  • Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to generate original documents suitable for regulators and financial partners.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills to identify trends and insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitasking effortlessly and managing competing priorities under demanding deadlines.

Preferred qualifications include knowledge of card scheme requirements and fintech experience.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
