About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Global Payments Operations Specialist to join our team in Sydney, focusing on Investment Banking and Contract or Temporary roles.

The initial contract duration is 6 months, with a high chance of extension and potential for permanent employment. To be eligible, applicants must have a valid work visa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor payment processing applications, review and validate payments through various methods, flagging issues that arise with payment mechanisms and performing production validation.
  • Process funds transfer or settlement instructions accurately and within specified timeframes, escalating issues as necessary. Investigate differences in cash processing and perform settlements and reconciliations.
  • Manage daily cash movements by bank clients, confirming transaction validity with cash processing and client services managers.
  • Research and resolve client inquiries received from the client services team.
  • Adhere to and complete regulatory and compliance monitoring and reporting as required.
  • Serve as an escalation point for data processing issues and provide input on quality improvement processes.
  • Ensure the quality and completion of own work and support actional tasks assigned by the manager.
  • Assist in collecting US tax documentation for IRS requirements.
  • Participate in business initiatives, contributing to the achievement of team objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience combination required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in financial services or payment processing roles preferred.
  • Effective communication, organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Knowledge of local payments systems (e.g., Austraclear) and SWIFT payment system preferred.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
