This opportunity has arisen within a well-established freight forwarding company in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs. Reporting to the Branch Manager, and working within a friendly and vibrant team, you will handle all account functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform full function of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage daily cash flow, conduct foreign currency purchases
  • Process Foreign Currency Payments
  • Perform weekly customer analysis in terms of credit limit and terms
  • Process client refunds, staff expenses claims, manage corporate credit card and reconcile expenditure
  • Month-end processes, reporting and analysing
  • Manage prepayments and accruals
  • Balance Sheets – in consultation with external accountants at year end
  • Profit and Loss – in consultation with external accountants at year end
  • End of year tax statements – in consultation with external accountants at year end (incl journals)
  • BAS
  • WIPS/Accruals

About the Role:

As a Finance Specialist, you will work closely with the Branch Manager to ensure the smooth operation of accounts and finance processes. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines will be essential in this role.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a relevant Accounts/Bookkeeping role within the international freight forwarding industry
  • Experience with Cargowise operating system is essential
