Job Description 

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Finance Graduate to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in various finance functions and contribute to the success of our organization.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. They will also be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective support to the finance team, gaining a wide range of experience through exposure to different finance functions. You will take on responsibilities within Credit Control, the Stock Management Process, Weekly Reports for the Senior Management team, and the Management Accounts. You will also gain experience in Purchase Ledger, T&A System Functions and Purchasing as part of a rotation start to the programme, and further as cover work for others where required.

This provides a fantastic opportunity for the chosen candidate to become an integral part of our relatively small finance team and gain exposure to lots of different financial elements quickly. The role will also include study support for professional qualification and leadership development courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key part in the Credit Control function, helping the business bring cash into the business.
  • Take charge of the business stock take process, organizing weekly and monthly stock takes, ensuring accuracy and improving process.
  • Supporting Health and Safety Officer and Buyer with PPE Vending Machine usage, monitoring stock levels and employee usage.
  • Have responsibility for key weekly reports to Senior Managers within the company and wider division.
  • Support with the month end process via completion of reports such as Aged Debtors report.
  • Project work primarily based around financial and system controls following the recent implementation of new ERP system – initially helping with these projects before eventually taking charge of projects with support from the Finance Manager where required.
  • Gain understanding of Purchase Ledger function through rotation programme and offer support and cover where needed.
  • Gain understanding of T&A system through rotation programme and offer support and cover where needed.
  • Gain understanding of Buyers responsibilities through rotation programme and offer support and cover where needed.
  • Assisting with Year End Accounts and external audit through provision of formatted data requested by auditors.
Required Skills and Qualifications 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish team goals and objectives.
  • Computer literate, including high proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with key accounting concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn and improve not only themselves but also current processes.
