
Children and Family Services Advocate

As a Therapeutic Practitioner, you will be working with individuals and families affected by family violence. You will provide individually tailored support to victim survivors of family violence in the context of their family violence experience.
Key responsibilities include providing evidence-based assessment, counseling, and case management support, as well as planning, developing, and monitoring the implementation of evidence-informed interventions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent (essential)
- Minimum of two years' experience post-qualification working with children and families
- Qualifications in Family Therapy, Child Development and Trauma (desirable)
This role offers a flexible work model that encompasses the opportunity to work with clients in the community, work from home, and from Baptcare Hubs. The position also offers the chance to work with culturally sensitive and trauma-informed services, partnering with agencies such as Spectrum and the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS).
Others:The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, including written and verbal English, as well as highly impactful influencing, negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving skills. They will also demonstrate an ability to analyze complex issues, including the impact of violence and trauma, safety, and risk, providing therapeutic interventions for women and children and assisting them to achieve goals.
