Family Lawyer Opportunity

Situated within the Family, Youth and Children's Law program, this role offers a chance to provide high-quality legal services, including duty lawyer support, casework, and advice, while advocating for clients across various courts and tribunals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality legal services, including duty lawyer support, casework, and advice
  • Advocate for clients across various courts and tribunals
  • Engage with the community, contribute to legal education, and participate in law reform projects
  • Collaborate with others to foster a cooperative and supportive team environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to act as an advocate, deliver legal advice, and undertake negotiation and dispute resolution on behalf of clients in family law, family violence, and other related areas of law
  • Knowledge or practical experience in relevant law and procedure with a focus on one or more of family law, family violence, and/or child protection
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills and the demonstrated ability to liaise and communicate effectively with clients, staff, and external stakeholders and organizations
