Job Overview

This role requires a skilled and safety-conscious individual to manage waste operations at Council's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate plant equipment to complete routine waste management tasks, adhering to Environment Protection Authority (EPA) standards under limited supervision.
  • Accurately screen and sort incoming materials to minimize landfill quantities and ensure accurate disposal in designated areas, including recyclables, reusable materials, inert waste, putrescible waste, and asbestos.
  • Provide efficient administrative support, maintaining accurate records of incoming materials, outgoing recyclables, receipts, and daily balancing.
  • Report any non-compliance with Council policies related to landfill and transfer station operations.

  • Able to work collaboratively within a small team and independently as required.
  • Flexible and responsive to new challenges.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card).
  • Possess a Class C Driver Licence.
  • Hold a SafeWork approved High Risk Licence for LF - Forklift Operation.

Working Arrangements:

Full-time position with a 76-hour fortnight roster.
