Role Overview

We are currently seeking a junior Patent Attorney to join our Intellectual Property (Patents) practice in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified patent attorney to develop their commercial skills and work on a variety of interesting matters across all aspects of patents.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in mechanical, electrical, software and medical device technologies. They will also be responsible for performing and advising on IP due diligence, patentability, registrability, IP strategy and freedom to operate analyses.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • a degree in mechanical engineering or computer science;
  • hands-on experience in drafting patent specifications;
  • demonstrated patent prosecution skills across mechanical engineering or computer science;
  • demonstrated experience in patent searching;
