Key Events Coordinator Role

The role of the Key Events Coordinator plays a pivotal part in securing business through face-to-face sales calls, telesales and on-site guest relations activities.

This includes acting as the primary point of contact for all venue enquiries, bookings and coordination. Liaising with clients to understand their event requirements and developing tailored event plans are essential skills required for this position.

Coordination of logistical elements of events including staffing, catering, equipment and vendor management is also a key responsibility of the Key Events Coordinator.

Ensuring the venue is set up and presented to the highest standards for each event is crucial in maintaining a positive image of the organisation. Monitoring budgets and providing regular progress updates to clients is also an important task that requires strong organisational and time management skills.

Maintaining a list of suppliers to support the delivery of large events such as conferences and weddings is vital for the success of these events. Supporting the wider team with various administrative and operational tasks as needed is also an essential aspect of this role.

Requirements for Success
  • A minimum 2 years' experience in a similar events/venue coordination role, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with a proven ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm and composed demeanour.
  • A keen eye for detail with a solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Proficiency with event management software and MS Office suite.
